Academic Expectations

We offer a rigorous college preparatory experience. We are committed to success for each and every student. Below are expectations for students and families to promote school success. Families are expected to help their students be successful in this academically challenging environment. We expect students and families to understand the Student Handbook and the  Grading Handbook. All families will be asked to sign and accept these academic expectations annually.

All students are expected to:

  • Be respectful to themselves and others

  • Come to school daily ready to be challenged

  • Complete homework assignments daily

    • Middle school - about 1.5-2 hours a night

    • High school - about 2-3 hours a night

    • AP courses generally require more

  • Check Google Classroom daily

  • Prepare for tests

  • Develop a plan to complete larger projects in smaller chunks

  • Do their part in group projects

  • Prioritize school work over activities

  • Ask for help when needed

  • Check the gradebook in Infinite Campus regularly

We ask caregivers to:

  • Provide a place for their student to study

  • Check their student’s assignments

  • Assist their student with organization

  • Read daily announcements

  • Help their student to prioritize school work over activities

  • Check Infinite Campus regularly and email teachers if you have any questions

  • Volunteer at MSA as they are able
